Passion...
Food is our biggest passion. Besides conference/simultaneous interpretation, our next specialization is food styling. Sometimes we also shoot food photos for editorial, menu and packaging on clients’ request, but most of the time we work very closely with other commercial photography studios or ad agencies to provide professional food styling services for their food photography projects.
We’re experienced in styling most Western and Asian food, ranging from poultry & meat (roast, bake, fried or steam), seafood, burger, ice cream, pasta, rice & noodle, beverages, pattiserie, to salads and all sorts of stir-fried dishes. We’re also equipped with an extensive range of props to add textures and help set the mood of the photographs. Our lead food stylist, CY Phang, was trained under Denise Vivaldo, a renowned food stylist in Hollywood. All food photographs on this site have been photographed and styled by Expressword Solutions.
We’re located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but we’re available to travel out of the country for any food styling projects. We’re targeting to move into our brand new food photography studio and food styling kitchen by the second quarter of 2010.
If you need a food stylist that knows how food communicates with the camera and audience, then you have come to the right place. Drop us an email or give us a call, we’ll be delighted to help your food photos glow!
Pricing
Now, the million dollar question, how expensive or affordable are we? Food styling is a very tedious process that involves numerous activities, ranging from going through the whole mountain of vegetables and/or ingredients to find the best ones, sourcing for props, prior cooking preparation before the shooting day, and actual cooking and styling on the big day. Just like a bride who needs to look her best on her wedding day, we need to do the same to food, so that they appear mouth-watering and irresistible on camera. Which brings us back to the answer…Our food styling fee starts from RM1500/day for the actual photography day (8 – 9 hrs, not including cost of ingredients), and a preparation cost may incur, depending on the amount of prior preparatory work needed on the day before. Final quotation will depend on time and effort needed.
